Cupping

Have you ever had cupping done? Did you know a lot of pelvic floor physical therapists use cupping? It’s one of my favorite tools to use on people that have pelvic pain. People don’t always love it when I do it, but they see results after. I often use cups on their adductors and even their abdomen to help loosen the muscles, bring blood flow, and move the fascia. If we can get things to move and glide better, show the body that things can move, and improve people's overall and visceral (organs) mobility, they often see an improvement in pain. They can even do it themselves, at home!

The adductor muscles are at the medial thigh and they attach on the pelvis, right by the pelvic floor muscles. The adductor fascia attaches to the pelvic floor muscles, so often loosening one will help with the other.

Do you have pelvic pain? Schedule a free phone consultation and we can discuss it and see if pelvic physical therapy will help you.
