General Hygiene Guidelines for “Down There”

Your vagina is self cleaning. She doesn't need soap. I prefer for you to wash with soap up until the crease where the thigh meets the vulva. Not past! Definitely nothing on the inner areas. That’s a water only zone.

Thongs and tight underwear aren’t good for your undercarriage. In an ideal world you’d wear white, cotton, full butt underwear with no lace.

Don’t bleach undergarments and make sure you’re using an unscented detergent.

Tampons should be 100% organic cotton and unscented. I love a menstrual cup or disc because it’s a lot less exposure to chemicals.

Pools and hot tubs are great but not for extended periods of time or daily. This can mess with the pH and lead to yeast infections and UTIs. Especially if they’re chlorinated. Same goes for bubble baths and bath bombs.

The main takeaway is that things should be loose and unscented with as little exposure to chemicals as possible.
